Criminal, before 5 March 1849, Ellen Brown was convicted, together with Mary King, at C. Monaghan, Ireland for the offence stealing 16 shillings (offence given as cow stealing on Grangegorman prison register?). She had no previous recorded convictions. She was found guilty and sentenced to 5 years gaol. This conviction lead to her being transported to VDL, Australia.
